The greatest thing I can do is to use my talents to help others.
I designed this flyer for a sweet little girl named Delilah who is fighting NKH. Non-ketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH), is a severe and rare disorder affecting about one in every 60,000 live births. Delilah is a 2 year old who wasn’t supposed to live this long, according to her doctors, but she is a strong little girl who is proving them wrong. She is a sweet and precious child who is learning to crawl and is starting to babble. She is celebrating the little victories, the milestones that we often overlook because it is expected for a typically developed child. Please pray for her and the other children affected with NKH. The families of these little children with this disorder need your help in raising money to fund research to find a cure.
Please visit Delilah’s website and help with their first annual 5k race… Beeline To The Cure. The fun run/walk is this Saturday. Best thing is you can virtually participate which means you don’t have to physically be there to be a part of the event. Or you can just donate. Please Share this info. Pass on the hope.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and all the moms who have to be dad too. The above graphic is of my husband, he is the best dad to out littles. He is a caring, loving, a hard working provider, he believes in us and encourages us, he is strong, patient, funny, and just all around awesome. My children and I are truly blessed.
I hope everyone had an amazing day. Cheers.
Out here everyday putting my creative self out there. Follow me on my journey.
There are days that just whiz by and as I reflect I wonder to myself “what the heck happened?” Well as I start to break the day down, I realize that I ran all around town doing errands, went grocery shopping, came home and started some laundry, prepped dinner and then had just enough time to run and pick up the kids from school. Wow, I am tired just writing that. I have found that I can run myself ragged with ‘mommy duties’ and not give myself the work time and the leisure time that I really need to run a graphic design freelance and It Works business and to give myself some much needed me time to just breathe. I need to schedule my own time. Therefore, with summer schedule in mind I have made arrangements for my kids to go to a babysitter 1 day a week by bartering with another mom (we traded babysitting for babysitting). This will give me the much needed quiet time and business time. And 1 to 2 days a week are scheduled for cleaning and errand running and at least 2 days left for summer fun activities with the kiddos. Does anyone find themselves getting so weighed down with life that they forget to stop and schedule some ‘me’ time?? Where are all my busy mamas at??
I find that I am not a spontaneous person. I like to plan. I like to have lists and have post it notes as reminders everywhere. I prep and plan my week every Sunday night: appointments, play dates, coffee dates, shopping times, and errand running… yeah I like to plan. I am the type of mom who plans out meals and snacks before trips, lays out outfits and packs extras just in case, I put waters in the fridge the night before and plans out a packing list if we are doing something the next day. I am always with a cooler of waters and snacks and a bag of toys and electronic distracting devices in the car. So planning keeps me sane. I don’t try to fight it; I go with it. And acknowledging this about myself has made my life much more awesome. But when the last minute changes and things come up now I just go with that too. I have learned to pick my battles and I just go with the flow when I need to. And this has brought peace to my businesses as well.
Plan, prep, organize, schedule, write it down, prioritize, make some rules and allow some freedoms because we need to permit ourselves some special time for us and some important time for business. So go do it, get back on track and just do it. Your busy brain and body will thank you.

I am a mom. I am a stay-at-home mom. I am a stay-at-home mom who happens to be a graphic designer. I am a creative person who often puts on many hats throughout the day. And often I am just too tired at the end of the day to be full on artsy so I have to find the time in my schedule to create. I have learned creativity and inspiration can come in even the smallest activity. I can snap a picture with my phone, organize the kids toy blocks by color, color with my kiddos, paint along side them, go to the park and pick flowers to sketch, play a color game with my littles or just get on my computer and search online for some inspiration with my children sitting on my lap and shouting out things for us to look up. It can be tricky but I have learned that I need to organize my time and activities to be productive and be flexible enough to run around with the kids if the ants get in our pants. Organization is key not only in business but also in life. Especially when you have two little artists in the house consistently creating masterpieces. My art wall aka side of the refrigerator was out of control and the clutter was driving this mama bonkers. So I took charge and made it easier on the eyes with a little crafting. I used balsa wood because it’s lightweight, a little craft paint, added on some metal clips with hot glue and some non-damaging Command Strips and voila… instant art gallery.
Here are the before and after photos. The chaos and the awesomeness. The crazy and the serene. My happy place. The best part is the kids love it. Score one for this crafty mama.
Thanks for reading. Cheers.

I am me
No one like she
With hopes, wants, ambitions, dreams
My style, my grace, my eyes, my face
My stance and my dance are matched to none
Yes, that is me
What’s mine is mine
My pride, my stride, my walk and my talk
My curves, my spice
And my everything nice
I smile and I shine
I laugh and I cry
I’m sexy and loud
And bitchy and proud
Yes, there is a method to my madness
A tear to my sadness
Still, I am strong and free
And I am me
So I will say it now and forevermore
I am WOMAN, here me ROAR!
Recently I attended the grand opening event of The Party Studio owned by Carmen Morin of Carmen Navarro Designs. Carmen is an event stylist. She is a talented designer and has had her work featured in magazines and on party blogs. She is a strong businesswoman, educated in the arts, professional, and not to mention she is a big sweetheart. I am elated for her continued success in her field. So I happily attended her event. When I walked in, everywhere I turned in the studio there was something handcrafted and meticulously decorated. It was truly a feast for the eyes. There were fancy decorated cookies made to look like mascara and lipstick and eye shadow, colorful macaroons on golden cake stands, a lovely layered cake and these giant hand crafted paper flowers adorning a gold and light pink wall. There were glam and sparkle table clothes, gold inspirational quotes, colorful hand-made tassels for sale, beautiful vintage furniture, and cake stands galore. The whole studio was serene and inspirational. I seriously was in heaven. She also rents out some of her equipment. From dessert tables to entire events, she takes care of the whole look and styles everything to perfection. She is truly creative. Please visit her website and follow her on Instagram and Facebook @CarmenNavarroDesigns
