I work hard at what I do. I wear many hats and do many things but my passion (second to being a mommy) is as a graphic designer and creative writer. So let me bring your vision to life and enhance your business to attract more customers.
My job is to create a product that will not only be versatile, attractive & crafted with great quality, but something which becomes a true nexus of interaction with your customers. Some Monday morning silliness…
Mondays, oh I hate
The end of fun, start of work
Coffee, yes please, now
Have a lovely day… Kat
Having your own space to create is important. Decorating that space to make it inspirational is a bonus. The importance of finding your own place to zen out and focus is crucial to the creative process, in my humble opinion. As a mom of two littles, trying to carve out some creative time and space is tedious but much needed. Shout out to all the overly caffeinated moms out there! Make the most of bland beige walls, add a splash of color or your favorite framed art, get a little messy and unorthodox, it’s your space so embrace it.
We’ve moved twice in the past two years and now that we own our place I can finally do my collage wall that I have been wanting for so long. I just jumped in feet first and started hanging stuff up. And I LOVE it. It’s so colorful and fun.
How have you decorated your creative space? Is it modern, simple and clean, is it ordained with nice classic paintings as you sit on your wing-back chair, is it a paint splattered art studio with concrete floors, is it a giant cork board with all of your current projects, is it a colorful mishmash of things like mine? Any place can become a creative space.
Remember a creative space can be whatever you make of it, just as inspiration can come from anywhere. Whether it’s a closet turned office like Perry Covington author of the wonderful Child of Atlantis series. (Check it out here). I designed his publisher’s logo by the way! #logodesigner Or if you hide away at the local coffee shop like Jerry Rogers author of the supernatural mystery awesomeness The Fallen and The Elect series. (Check it out here). I designed both his website header and his author’s logo… wink wink! #hireme

The pineapple symbolizes hospitality, friendship, generosity and graciousness.
We could all use a little more kindness in our lives. The world could use a little more kindness. Our hearts could use a little more kindness.
I have hope for this world and I have love for my fellow human and I have faith for our hearts to soften in this time of turmoil.
Dear world, above all else, be kind.
Thank you Pantone for picking a fresh color for 2017 that brings about vibrancy for something new but at the same time is peaceful and calm. This is a great duality in these trying political and social times. It is a bit of freshness we all are all craving for the New Year. A calm in the storm and a breath of fresh air for the unrest. To some it might be just a color, but this color will pop up everywhere in our society and one hopes bring with it such calming effects. Green symbolizes harmony and safety and is associated with healing, all things we desperately need right now. So Pantone has played an important societal role, in my opinion.
Personally, green is my favorite color so I am over the moon for the Color of the Year. To me, Greenery represents my yearly goals of empowerment and growth. I am empowering myself one step at a time to move forward in the direction of my goals in business and personal growth.
So thank you Pantone for picking the right color at the right time. Kudos.
Thanks for reading. Cheers…. Kat
Today has been and inspirational sort of day. I took family photos and as I reflect on the day I cannot help but say “wow!” I am blessed beyond belief with a beautiful, healthy and loving family and that is the best I can ask for. I am so thankful to my God who has given me such a fulfilled life and all the opportunities that have presented themselves lately. I am honestly overwhelmed. What brings joy to your heart and thankfulness to your soul?
Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
So today is a day that should be celebrated loud, with smiles and with open arms. Mental health should be talked about every day, out in the open, freely, like it is a normal thing because to some people the struggle is their norm. To not talk about it or to hush it and push it under the rug is part of the problem. Share your experiences and be open about your feelings if you can because we all have a story to tell.
Check out these stats from the National Alliance of Mental Health…
- Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S.—43.8 million, or 18.5%—experiences mental illness in a given year.
- Approximately 1 in 25 adults in the U.S.—10 million, or 4.2%—experiences a serious mental illness in a given year that substantially interferes with or limits one or more major life activities.
Mental Health By the Numbers
Those are some sad numbers. The fact that it is so prominent yet has such a stigma attached to it is just plain sad. So use your voice, tell your story and spread the word.
