I am a mom. I am a stay-at-home mom. I am a stay-at-home mom who happens to be a graphic designer. I am a creative person who often puts on many hats throughout the day. And often I am just too tired at the end of the day to be full on artsy so I have to find the time in my schedule to create. I have learned creativity and inspiration can come in even the smallest activity. I can snap a picture with my phone, organize the kids toy blocks by color, color with my kiddos, paint along side them, go to the park and pick flowers to sketch, play a color game with my littles or just get on my computer and search online for some inspiration with my children sitting on my lap and shouting out things for us to look up. It can be tricky but I have learned that I need to organize my time and activities to be productive and be flexible enough to run around with the kids if the ants get in our pants. Organization is key not only in business but also in life. Especially when you have two little artists in the house consistently creating masterpieces. My art wall aka side of the refrigerator was out of control and the clutter was driving this mama bonkers. So I took charge and made it easier on the eyes with a little crafting. I used balsa wood because it’s lightweight, a little craft paint, added on some metal clips with hot glue and some non-damaging Command Strips and voila… instant art gallery.
Here are the before and after photos. The chaos and the awesomeness. The crazy and the serene. My happy place. The best part is the kids love it. Score one for this crafty mama.
Thanks for reading. Cheers.
